As you may have guessed by this tardy email, I’m having a topsy turvy week so there’s no long intro blurb from me today. But there’s always time for amazing arts and culture news - do take a moment if you can to check these projects out:
Brilliant Chris Sonnex has launched a ‘Ticket Bank’ which will make 1000 tickets available each week for those who cannot afford to pay for cultural activities. Currently only in London, but imagine the nationwide possibilities!
The amazing team at Civic Square have just released their first #NeighbourhoodDoughnut Portrait and Workbook, co-created with people in Ladywood, Birmingham.
A planning application has gone in for a multi-million pound ‘Youth Zone’ in Salford, which if approved will give young people access to everything from top sports facilities to arts and culture training!
Check out this gorgeous cardboard show, created by Scarborough’s community and produced by ARCADE. Pay-what-you-can tickets, on until 23 December.
And a few little personal plugs from me...
Lovely Seth from Heavy Metal Email interviewed me about the history of Opportunity Tuesday, why I started it and what the transition from Twitter to email has been like - check it out if you fancy!
I’m a Trustee at The Montgomery and we have BIG plans to transform the 136-year-old building into something pretty incredible for children and young people. We’re looking for a General Manager to help make it happen - apply!
My little company RivelinCo, a neighbourhood arts centre without walls, are currently recruiting for Casual Arts Support Workers in Sheffield, and we’re also starting to build a Board. Find out more and apply here.
Now, on to the main event…

That’s it for this week!
Really hope it’s useful. It’s a tough time for artists (and, well, everyone) at the mo so please look after each other out there. Please let me know if you’re successful with your applications, and as always if you enjoy Opportunity Tuesday please share to help us reach the folks who need it most. I started it to try to level the playing field a bit, and every little helps.
Opportunity Tuesday will always be free to access, but if you can afford to chip in a little something to support me to keep it going, that would be hugely appreciated - just click the button below to support with £1 per week. (I’m freelance too!)
Thank you for your support, and I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. Good luck!
P.S. The part you’ve all been waiting for. Chewie and Solo say hi…
Please note: Inclusion in #OpportunityTuesday is not endorsement. I look far and wide for the most interesting and exciting paid opportunities I can find, and though I do my best to make sure they’re legit, I don’t always know the organisations well. If you have an issue with something on the list, please get in touch with the relevant organisation. You are very welcome to send me opportunities to include, but please note I will not be able to respond to every request, and I do not guarantee inclusion in the list - each week is curated to be varied and relevant. Thanks!
